The Timelord Victorious speech was soon followed by self doubt and then the comments about him dying. All in all a good performance and nice to see a display of his dark side, although we all know this is temporary.

Perhaps this regeneration will parallel the Pertwee/Baker one. The Doctor needing to atone for his “sins” and being purged/reborn as a new man.

It looked like the moment when David Tennant got in touch with his inner Colin Baker. It’s also doing a good job of cushioning the audience from the sadness that always accompanies imminent regenerations. For the first time, the Doctor may need to regenerate for his own peace of mind rather than as a result of physical trauma.
