And it’s good news…

Hi there,

It’s always nice to be able to do a follow-up report on a success story.

I thought you might like to know that the DVD of the first series was successful enough for me to be granted a further licence from 2enetertain for series two which will be released on 17th March on the Replay label. I’m also currently working on plans for other future releases. Details can be found online here

If you would like any further information, please feel free to email either myself or my PR Richard Leon on richard@richardleonpr.co.uk for a press release.

“My wife left me…” again, at last http://www.offthetelly.co.uk/?p=4150 http://www.offthetelly.co.uk/?p=4150#comments Sat, 27 May 2006 10:57:16 +0000 Graham Kibble-White http://www.offthetelly.co.uk/?p=4150 Well, in one way or another, we’ve been following this story for a good six months (see here and here). The good news now is, on Thursday, I came home to find my DVD of Joking Apart series one had arrived.

And, what can I say? A thoroughly professional job, including a very enjoyable documentary on the making of the show. More than that, even if we ignore the fact the muscle behind the release is really a one-man-band (cos, essentially, that is what Replay DVD is) the packaging, dispatch-time … everything, was fantastic.

There’s every chance this release is going to be the success it deserves to be. Just Google “Craig Robins” and “Joking Apart” and you’ll find his achievement being reported all over the place. The omens look good. They’ll look even better if you do what I did, and go off and buy a copy. That URL in full, then: http://www.replaydvd.co.uk.

Fool if you think it’s over http://www.offthetelly.co.uk/?p=2721 http://www.offthetelly.co.uk/?p=2721#comments Thu, 15 Dec 2005 15:48:44 +0000 Graham Kibble-White http://www.offthetelly.co.uk/?p=2721 Robert Bathurst in interview: “Ah! Joking Apart! My favourite job ever. What’s more, there’s a fan with a plan. He’s a videotape editor who has spent the last year organising to buy the DVD rights from the BBC. And not only does he stand in the pub and moan on about how Joking Apart was a good show, he’s actually bought the rights to release it on DVD. We’re doing the extras for it at the beginning of the New Year with Steven Moffat and some of the cast .”

The chap Bathurst’s referring to runs the unofficial Joking Apart website, and represents the way TV fandom seems to be leading the DVD market right now. Not only have you got Alistair McGown spearheading a Star Maidens release (for God’s sake why, Alistair?), but Andy Priestner’s Survivors website seems to have to prompted that series’ emergence onto disc too.

So, how long until an OTT-sponsored Bob’s Full House box set, with an onscreen menu based on the big bingo board?
