Target: Who!

Mark Gatiss explores the world of Doctor Who novelisations for a Radio 4 documentary.

On the Outside it Looked Like an Old Fashioned Police Box is scheduled to air at 11.30am on Tuesday 24 June. This 30-minute programme will chart the history of Target books’ Doctor Who range, which ran from 1973 until 1994, amassing 156 titles and sales of over 13 million worldwide.

Gatiss will also read from some of the publications’ most descriptive passages, and mark how the books diverged from the televised stories.

As ‘Planet of the Dead’ marks Who‘s debut on blu-ray, it’s a worthwhile reminder of how previous generations used to relive episodes.
