The Wire uncoiled

BBC2 has confirmed it’s to air US series, The Wire.
The HBO crime drama will begin screening on the channel at the end of March, stripped across the week.

It starts next Monday (30th) after Newsnight. Adam and Joe were discussing The Wire on 6 Music this weekend, with Joe noting how, even though he’s never seen it, he feels able to hold a conversation about the show purely based on ubiquitous internet chatter. To wit: “Oh yes, it’s slow to begin with, but when you get to episode four…Omar, he’s the best character, oh yes…the characters are so *true*, everybody has flaws, it’s marvellous…” All of which is true. And none of which is a reason not to watch.
